Taking as main object of reflection the production of the DVD “Ethnographic Chronicles of the Islands of Porto Alegre”, the text reflects the possibilities of construction of hypertextual narratives on video about the collective memory. Oral narratives and urban itineraries in the space and in the memory of the city are crossed through the menus and sub-menus of the DVD. In such a way, the fragmented narratives on video presents the different ethical dimensions among an environmental conflict, between the microcosms in the narratives and the daily practices of the residents of the islands of the Delta do Jacuí, in the Metropolitan Area of Porto Alegre, and the macrocosms of the hidrographic regions and the biosphere, images of the global environmental politics.
