“Cemeteries, graves and ‘animitas’. Registration, documentation and diffusion of the Aysén’s funeral heritage. Patagonia chilena”, is a 5 years old research. We have visited several sites and public archives, checking information. We also have interviewed people for further information. Taking photographs is one of the techniques applied to collect the memory of this research. Sometimes the image has been oriented towards conveying a “poetic” atmosphere; another time the photograph has been essentially technical: a close up of a specific style, a landscape, a perimetral fence of one cemetery or the animal’s tracks that have grazed upon the sharp sacredness of the bodies.
I must speak with certain deads.
