Imágenes de la Frontera.

In the context of the photographs about the Mapuche world produced mainly at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century, there are a number of them that have become true symbols of culture due to their constant use, Dissemination and public over-exhibition in the most diverse fields and media (scientific publications, advocacy, posters, press, internet, among others). Each of these photographs has become the expression of what the Mapuche should be. In this paper we will try to analyze and reflect on this process and expose the various supports that have subtly and constantly constructed these photographs in cultural institutions and the conflicts that this has provoked.
