Ojos opacos. Una indagación sobre la figura de la víctima en el relato fotográfico de la Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación del Perú.

I present in this work my first thoughts about photography and its role in the reconstruction of the visual memory about the years of the political violence lived in Peru during the 80’s years.

The Commission for the Truth and Reconciliation (CVR), an state organization in charge of investigating the crimes committed during that time, decided to present its Final Report with an attachment of 102 photos under the title “Yuyanapaq: to remember”. This visual story allowed the CVR to re-present the different actors of the conflict, emphasizing the figure of the victim, with the purpose of showing desolation, suffering and the consequences of the violence. I try, according to this, to develop the criteria of construction of this story and deal in depth with the analysis of these representations, immersed in the symbolic field, because they set up a relevant material to fix the ways of the formation of the social imaginary of Peruvian people about this process.
