Notes on marginality and apathy -young people in argentinean cinema in the 1990s.

Abstract in spanish

The representation of young people in Argentine cinema in the 1990s is one of the possible stories of the transformations applied in the country during the decade of neoliberal hegemony. Images where young people travel synthesizing the fractured itineraries of a new type of society; becoming the object of controversy. As a hypothesis, we recognize a shift in expectations for youth. From the young person as the bearer of the utopia of social transformation to arrive, Nuevo Cine Argentino through, unemployment, marginality and crime; or apathy and lack of questioning as plausible (and exclusionary) behavior of the new generations.
