Diferencias étnicas y culturales en nuevos imaginarios nacionales. Observación densa de dibujos animados chilenos contemporáneos.

After exposing the context of multicultural demand of representation and recognition in which appears the new national production of cartoons, we describe those series (El ojo del Gato, Pulentos, Walala y Diego&Glot) and the most relevant episode of each one to analyse its representation of difference. Those episodes are centered in the representation of characters, places and customs from France, China, the north of Chile and Peru, and also has mentions to other ethnic and cultural differences. After that, we discuss the use of tipification as a representative strategy of inclusion of new imaginaries that quit racial or cultural content to its limits, and links them to the practices of who live there. That allows a “nationalism without nation”, linked as community of destiny that needs the knowledge of the other, what is realized through a tipification that remarks and sustancialize the difference.
