Images of time, forms of city: hypertextual ethnographies and image banks.
This article focuses on ethnographic research done by the Image and Visual Effects Bank (Banco de Imágenes y Efectos Visuales, BIEV) on collective memory and the trajectories of urban groups from the communities of Porto Alegre (RS, Brazil). The proposed analysis follows up on the work done by BIEV with hypermedia and multimedia ethnographies, and on assumptions made about anthropological rhetorical writing. Its aim is to rescue field date and broaden the proposals for generating anthropological knowledge on the Internet.
