El maíka en la sociedad rapanui: aproximación etnográfica visual a los usos y representaciones sociales de la Musa sp. en el contexto insular.

The Musa sp. is a constituent part of the visual landscape of the island plant Rapa Nui, it is called by locals as the maíka and represents one of the most important species of society. It is part of the island species brought to the first migration by hotu matu´a, its relevance not only for this reason , it is more due to is various uses such as food, technology, and fiber and as object exchange. These uses are given in different social spaces, such as domestic. Religious, ritual tapati festival among others. Therefore, it is highly valued by the rapanui people.
