Representations of african and afro-descendents in the argentina society. Analysis of drawings of police officers from the province of Buenos Aires.
This paper presents results of an analysis of materials developed by police officers from the province of Buenos Aires (Argentina), in situations of professional instruction, with the aim of representing african migrants and afro-descendents in the argentina society. The analysis on drawings made by request of the investigator included the implementation of readings, denotative and connotative, to images and complementary linguistic elements. Also it required the analytical consideration, by way of context and discursive contrast, from comments made by the participants during the implementation. The results reveal exoticism, social ignorance and denationalization of people -“black”- african and afrodescendants, resort to caricature and oversized aspects considered outsiders (cultural and of phenotype), based on a conception of the nation argentina as “white” and euro-descendant.
