Cinema at the Borders: Effects of Latin American cinema at the other side of the borders.
From the beginning, the Latin American cultural art scene has developed mainly in an autonomous way. Except in some cases, the governments have been characterized as scarce financial contributors to this area, and this situation has resulted in a lot of productions with independent and self-management perspective, many of which point to an equity in education, rights and quality of life.
With the expansion of these projects, some questions arise: to what extent the objectives are achieved?; How effective are this activities to the recipient population?; What is the real impact, individual and collective, generated by them? To elucidate these concerns, this research addresses the social implications generated as a result of work experience in one of these initiatives, "Cinema at Borders" tour traveling cinema, that walks border towns of Latin America, spreading and promoting local audiovisual productions.
