The following article is a critical reflection on the use of audiovisual media in social research. The author explains the difficulties he had when he tried to do his thesis on "Ricota’s Roundings", from the anthropological perspective, using audiovisual media, Which eventually led him to change his research topic to one that would have greater acceptance in the traditional academic realm.
