The following ethnography tries to demonstrate the transformations to which the commune of La Florida has seen exposed in the last 20 years product of the processes of modernization and urban expansion of the city of Santiago. In this period of time passed of being a semi-rural zone transforming in a subcenter of the capital. The whereabouts 14 have turned into a symbol of the speech of modernity of market that one installed in the commune, the conjunction of big avenues, the arrival of the subway and the establishment of the principal communal services in this point turn it into an icon of this new stage into the history of the commune.
