The following article is about an ethnographic work done at the National Liberation Army School of Combatants in Colombia. The idea was to make an approach to the preparation of the aspiring guerrillas and see how this socially and symbolically constructed process conforms as a rite of initiation. The methodology used in this ethnography lies in the use of video as a research tool. In this way we are faced with an ethnography of communication that combines symbolic and visual anthropology.
