The following text realizes a historical ethnography about the last whaling ship of the company Macaya Bros.. A particular watercraft, because it was adapted specially for whalers activities, supposing in addition an important change in the production of this company, because the cetacean were slaughtered directly, without need to resort to the terrestrial factory located in Chome. Likewise, the activity of this ship is marked by the association of the whaler Macaya Bros. with Japanese capitals, that reorientated the production towards the obtaining of whale meat. In this way, we will present a characterization of this craft, as well as a brief description of the hunt and later processing of the whales in its facilities. Integrating for this bibliographical and ethnographic information, with photographic material compiled in the frame of the investigation.
