Photographies that remember. The memory narrative in the photographic exhibit “Yuyanapaq: Para recordar".
The photographic exhibit “Yuyanapaq: Para recordar” is one of the initiatives developed by the Truth and Reconciliation Comission, that constituted a memory landmark of the belic post-conflict lived by Perú during the 1980's until the year 2000. The aim of this paper is to interpret the memory narrative proposed by said photographic exhibit, analyzing its selection criteria and curatorial staging. I propose that the narrative configured by the exhibit has a particular character and particular characteristics, such as the approach to violence in a dissimulated way, a centrality of the victim in said memory narrative, and the use of photography as "evidences of truth".
