Construction of the mapuche image in film and video: the fiction-documentary binomial.
All intercultural representation is the result of a complex construction process, where the producer of the image passes on forms and contents of one’s own culture in its representation of the other. In this work, we reflect on the construction of the Mapuche image in film and video, based on a critical look at the traditional ways of characterizing documentary and fiction cinematographic genres.
